Bridging The Gaps Loughborough University 2012

Last week I started work two days a week at Loughborough University as part of a project that aims to bridge gaps between different departments and disciplines. I have spent the last couple of weeks setting up and talking to specialists in Mechanical Engineering and Chemistry and in the Fine Art Department.
Its always a bit fraught trying to establish what you can do in a short space of time -the idea is to collaborate  across departments and to marry Traditional and New Technologies.

What a a lovely challenge - so thinking about interesting visual chemical experiments, laser cutting wood to print (Wood cuts are the oldest known printmaking techniques), working with three dimensional computer packages transferring into Two dimensional drawing packages and then laser cutting designs.

I will keep you all posted. Here are some images ..
